Barcelona Take Charge in Transfer Race for Man Utd, PSG €8M-per-Year Target

Barcelona, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly eyeing Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Talks over a contract extension between the Georgian winger and Napoli appear to have stalled, which could give these clubs an advantage.

La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that PSG and Barcelona are ramping up their efforts to sign Kvaratskhelia, putting pressure on Napoli to secure an agreement before next summer.

Journalist Graeme Bailey recently told Rousing the Kop that Liverpool is also monitoring Kvaratskhelia as part of its plans for a potential Mohamed Salah departure.

“When you’ve got the likes of possibly Kvaratskhelia on the market, let’s not forget that Liverpool have just brought in the second best Georgian player,” Bailey said. “Liverpool are all over Kvaratskhelia, they know about the situation, there might be a chance of getting him next summer.”

Barcelona are still exploring options to strengthen their attack, and according to Sport (h/t Diaro AS), the club sees Kvaratskhelia as the most realistic choice for next summer, ahead of Rafael Leão. As a result, Nico Williams is not part of the equation.

Sport Mediaset reports Manchester United are prepared to outbid Napoli in a bold attempt to sign Georgian winger Kvaratskhelia. The report suggests that sporting director Dan Ashworth is ready to offer a five-year deal worth €8 million net per season. This translates to £128,500 per week after tax or a total of £33.4 million over the duration of the contract.
