Atalanta CEO Percassi: ‘Transfer market? We have a complete squad”

Luca Percassi, CEO of Atalanta, shared his thoughts on the upcoming Supercoppa Italiana and the club’s transfer market strategy from the team’s training camp in Saudi Arabia. Speaking to the official Serie A channels, Percassi provided insights into the team’s current state and future plans.

Atalanta are set to face Inter Milan in the semi-final of the Supercoppa, with the winner advancing to play either AC Milan or Juventus in the final. Percassi expressed enthusiasm about the competition, stating, “This is another fantastic experience we’re having in a unique context. We’re proud to be part of this well-organized competition, and tomorrow we’ll play against the strongest team and the tournament holders. It will be a great test, but one to face with the great intelligence that characterizes us. We’ll see what happens.”

The CEO also praised the host country, describing Saudi Arabia as “a country with great prospects, investing heavily in football.”

Reflecting on Atalanta’s journey, Percassi said, “We’re experiencing many finals, which are evenings that reward all the work we do. This means there’s a lot of work behind it. What we’ve done so far is extraordinary and very beautiful. However, we’re only halfway through a journey, and we must continue to work to make the most of the remaining difficult matches and have no regrets.”

Addressing the January transfer window, Percassi maintained a cautious approach. He stated, “The transfer market is obviously a period when there’s a lot of talk. This summer, we faced unprecedented issues, but with the confirmation that the club has made significant investments. We have a complete squad, and if there were opportunities that convince us, we would always be attentive.”

However, he emphasized that there’s no particular pressure to make moves, explaining, “The team has achieved more than positive results so far, and there are balances to respect. If there should be opportunities, we will seize them, but with great tranquillity because we know that the January market is very difficult.”
