Chris Hughes is in Palm Springs, California, endearing himself to girlfriend JoJo Siwa’s family, and he’s watched plenty of Dance Moms in the process.
“I’ve watched loads of Dance Moms while I’ve been here, but also at our house before we came over,” Hughes, 32, told Us Weekly exclusively as part of his campaign with Nutri-Grain. “And it is fun seeing JoJo’s mom on the TV because I know her just from knowing her like this.”
Hughes, who rose to fame on season 3 of Love Island U.K., explained that he had only intended to stay in Florida two nights, but he hasn’t wanted to leave, even playing four rounds of golf with Siwa’s father, Tom.
“We’ve watched a lot,” he added. “We actually watched a little bit last night, like the highlights on YouTube, and she has seen some of my stuff on Love Island.”
Chris Hughes Breaks Silence on His Relationship With JoJo Siwa
Hughes and Siwa, 22, met in the Celebrity Big Brother house and confirmed their relationship in June. Now getting to know each other outside of the house, Hughes said he doesn’t need Siwa to go back and watch all of his episodes of Love Island, which aired in 2017.

“I kind of said I don’t want to watch that,” Hughes admitted. “You don’t need to watch that. But I also know there’s so much stuff from Love Island, which was really fun. And there’s some loads of iconic clips from our series. I was just like, ‘Watch it at your peril. If you want to enjoy it and watch it, then feel free.’”
Even if they won’t be bingeing Love Island together, Hughes and Siwa have found plenty of ways to enjoy time together — sometimes by doing nothing at all.
JoJo Siwa Fuels Romance Rumors With Chris Hughes After ‘Magical’ Trip
“I still feel like I’m spending just pure time with a best friend,” he said, “which is so nice because we can do nothing and have the most fun. And I think that that’s just the most special thing about it is we don’t need to force things to have fun. We just enjoy each other’s company.”
Hughes and Siwa are happy in their relationship, being unapologetically themselves when they’re together. It’s part of the reason the Nutri-Grain “Not Sorry” campaign works for Hughes. The whole idea is to bring together reality stars, Hughes included, to deliver fake, over-the-top apologies for something they’ve done in front of millions of people. But of course, Hughes is apologizing for nothing.
“We say things and we do things and we don’t feel the need to apologize,” he said. “It’s kind of like we’re embracing that we don’t feel guilty when we have a Nutri-Grain because it’s salty. It has its vitamins and minerals, it has its whole grains and I don’t feel guilty for the things that I’ve done on reality television. So it’s kind of embracing the two and it was a tongue-in-cheek campaign, a really fun campaign and with a cool brand.”
