Arsenal take on AC Milan for their first pre-season friendly of the new campaign as they start their preparations for a first Premier League title since 2004.
Wednesday’s match will be the first in a three-game tour of east Asia, as the Gunners also take on in Newcastle in Singapore on Sunday before playing Tottenham in Hong Kong next Thursday, then returning to London to play two final home friendles against Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao the following week.
Three of Mikel Arteta’s side’s four new signings will be in action in Singapore this week, with goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga signing from Chelsea and central midfield duo Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard signing from Real Sociedad and Brentford respectively as the Gunners attempt to avoid another trophyless campaign.
Winger Noni Madueke also signed for the Gunners from Chelsea last week but won’t link up with his new teammates until they get back from Asia due his recent participation in the Club World Cup.

Four of AC Milan’s five pre-season friendlies will come against Premier League opposition, starting with facing the Gunners on Wednesday before they play Liverpool in Hong Kong on Saturday.
Massimiliano Allegri’s side then travel Down Under to Australia to take on Perth Glory before a two-match excursion to the British Isles, taking on newly-promoted Leeds in Dublin before finishing their pre-season camp with a visit to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea.
The 19-time Italian champions will be desperate to improve upon their eighth placed finish in Serie A last season, their lowest finish in 10 years, which leaves them not participating in European competition this coming campaign.
The Rossoneri have also bolstered their midfield in the current transfer window, signing Ballon d’Or winner Luka Modric from Real Madrid as well as a highly rated young Italian defensive midfielder from Torino by the name of Samuele Ricci.
The last time the two sides met in a competitive game was in the last 16 of the Europa League in 2018, with the Gunners winning 2-0 at the San Siro before winning the return leg 3-1.
