The legendary TV host showed up on the streets of New York, reportedly looking her best as she walked her way to a big birthday feast at a luxury restaurant.

Wendy Williams has been living under assisted care since 2022 following a court-ordered guardianship that she reportedly cannot wait to get out of.

The media personality marked her 61st birthday in style as she stepped on. Thursday, they went out accompanied by her former producer, Suzanne Bass, for a meal at Delmonico. She appeared bubbly in a little black dress paired with sneakers, bright pink lipstick, and a maxi blue Chanel bag.

Most importantly, the former talk show host was seen walking on her own two feet without the aid of her motorized scooter. Inside the restaurant, Williams was reportedly joined by two of her lawyers and Bass's spouse, who also worked as a producer on her show.

Although she clocked 61 on Friday, Williams treated herself to a good meal on Thursday evening consisting of seafood towers, caviar, Caesar salad, and filet mignon.

According to Page Six, she also got a huge baked Alaska for her birthday cake courtesy of the restaurant's partner, Max Tucci. Williams could not hold back her emotions as she blew out the candles on her well-deserved cake.

The star is currently residing at an assisted living facility in Hudson Yards, New York. A place she had previously described as a luxury prison, which limited her freedom to do things normal people enjoy.

But now that her lawyers are fiercely fighting the battle to get her released, Williams is regaining optimism and basking in confidence again. The former host already has plans in place should she break free from the arrangement at any moment.

"She was talking about how she's ready to travel once she gets out," a source from the birthday dinner noted, adding that her people were happy to see her looking and feeling better.

As the night wrapped up, Williams reportedly got a birthday wish from designer Zang Toi, who also grabbed a meal at the two-century-old downtown eatery on Thursday.

Back in April, The Blast shared that the former DJ and her niece's outing landed the latter in hot water and had her battling kidnapping allegations.

Her niece, Alex Finnie, had reportedly followed her for a psychological evaluation appointment and then took her to an Italian restaurant afterwards.

While they were out grabbing a bite, the facility contacted the New York Police Department with claims that Finnie had bypassed protocols by taking Williams out without permission.

Upon hearing about these damning allegations, Finnie and William noted that the facility, named Coterie, had informed her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, that William had no movement restrictions.

An insider added that an attendant from the facility walked Williams and Finnie to the car and watched them leave. Morrissey's attorney also asserted that there was no limitation on family visits.

Williams’ ex, Kevin Hunter, is also pulling strings to get her released from guardianship with claims that his ex-wife was being mistreated, abused, and subjected to financial mismanagement.

The Blast reported that Hunter claimed that Williams was rushed through the process and not afforded adequate legal representation, resulting in exploitation by the media.

Hunter then identified the financial implications of the program and how Williams is suffering financial loss in the process. He noted that the former DJ had lost up to $20 million annually since she stopped working.

Williams’ ex claimed that her Wells Fargo financial advisor, Lori Schiller, withdrew $60,000 behind her back and sent it to Dr. Rami Kaminski in 2022, who pronounced that Williams was mentally incapacitated.

He added that their son, Kevin Hunter Jr., has no access to his college funds, as they have been used to settle lawsuits against her. Hunter declared in his lawsuit that a thorough investigation should be made into Williams’ finances.

Hunter also demanded $250 million in damages as relief for financial loss and other inconveniences suffered by Williams.

The estranged couple tied the knot in 1999 and stayed together for about two decades until 2019, when the former TV host filed for divorce. Two years later, in 2021, Williams finally discussed details of her failed marriage, revealing that infidelity on Hunter’s part played a major role.

As noted by The Blast, Williams described her estranged husband as a serial cheater who cheated on her even while she was carrying their only child. His affair with his long-time mistress, Sharina Hudson, whom he later got engaged to in 2021, was what broke the camel’s back.

Hunter and Hudson welcomed a child together in 2019, and Williams took that as a cue to end the marriage. The birth of the child was followed by a public apology from Hunter at the time.
