Metz's summery ensemble featured a navy-blue base with vibrant robin egg blue, gold, and amber stripes, paired with black open-toe heels, a bold red pedicure, and matching lipstick. With her brunette hair parted down the middle and styled in soft, voluminous waves, she looked every bit the picture of transformation and empowerment.

In an interview with Daily Mail, Metz opened up about her health journey, crediting consistent weightlifting as a major contributor to her recent progress. While she weighed in on the rising popularity of weight-loss drugs like Ozempic, the actress emphasized that her path has been rooted in long-term lifestyle changes and commitment.

“I feel better than ever, and it’s not just physical,” Metz said. “It’s about loving yourself enough to keep showing up for yourself.”

Metz Says Her Weight Loss Journey Is About Aging Gracefully, Not Vanity

Metz’s radiant appearance at the Lifetime Summer Soirée comes just weeks after she turned heads at Variety’s Power of Women event, where she also opened up about the driving force behind her health journey.

At the time, the actress shared that her dramatic transformation has been fueled not by vanity, but by a desire to age gracefully and build lasting strength. “I want to age the best way that I can, and I want to be strong,” she told Daily Mail earlier this year. “I'm literally doing it because I am nervous about aging, about osteoporosis or arthritis.”

While she’s not a fan of cardio, “I don't want to run unless I'm being chased,” she joked, Metz said she’s always enjoyed strength training and has leaned into it as a key component of her routine.

Her motivation is supported by a personal trainer who understands the journey firsthand. “We have things in common where it's not just like, 'Why are you doing this?' Like, I don't want to be yelled at. I want to be lovingly supported in whatever it is that I'm doing,” she said.

And when it comes to trending weight-loss aids like Ozempic, Metz took a supportive, non-judgmental stance. “If you're not hurting anybody, and you're not hurting yourself, you should do what you feel is right for your body or your mind or whatever.”

In addition to her physical transformation, Metz continues to do the inner work, candidly opening up about the emotional scars that still linger from her childhood.

While the "This Is Us" star has previously spoken about the abuse she endured growing up, she recently shared that it was the emotional wounds that proved hardest to heal.

“They’re like little nicks, little cuts, and eventually you bleed out. It is painful,” Metz admitted. “I think I’m trying to heal those wounds slowly but surely… The root of it is like, ‘I’m unworthy.’”

Though the abuse happened years ago, Metz said the impact has followed her into adulthood. But with therapy and self-reflection, she’s gained a new perspective.

“Now, as an adult, I’m like, ‘OK, maybe he actually loved me and didn’t know how to express it’ and did it in such a difficult way that he thought he was being helpful,” she shared. “Also, hurt people hurt people, and he was, I think, very hurt by his own father. These are only things I can say now because I’ve gone to therapy and processed feelings.”

"Faith In The Flames" tells the harrowing true story of Jolly, a nurse who risked her life during the catastrophic 2018 Camp Fire in Paradise, California.

When wildfire flames engulfed the region, Jolly bravely helped evacuate patients from Feather River Hospital before attempting to escape herself. Trapped in her car and later caught on foot with her clothes on fire, Jolly was eventually rescued by a passing fire crew after narrowly surviving what she believed would be her final moments.

The film premieres on Lifetime Saturday, July 19, at 8 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. CT.
