Andy Cohen recently opened up about Jax Taylor and his decision to exit "The Valley" after only two seasons, and according to him, it was the best choice the reality star could have made amid his current life struggles.
Andy Cohen Supports Jax Taylor's Bravo Exit, Says He Has Things He Needs To Work Out

A few days ago, Taylor, who first rose to fame on Bravo's "Vanderpump Rules," admitted that he was taking time away from the show to focus on himself.
"After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I'll be stepping away from the next season of 'The Valley,'" the father of one said in a statement. "Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz."
Taylor's recent announcement came weeks after members of the Bravoverse began calling for his dismissal after watching him display problematic behavior toward his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, on camera. However, some people weren't prepared for the network to actually take a stand.
Jax Taylor's Announcement 'Blindsided' His Co-Stars

According to a previous report from The Blast, the cast of "The Valley" was reportedly "blindsided" by the news of Taylor's departure.
"They were not given any advance notifications about his exit," the source shared. "Most of the cast were notified that filming was going to begin at the end of the summer, and they expected Jax would be a part of the new season because — even as lately as yesterday — he hadn't said otherwise. This is a huge surprise."
Other Bravo personalities, specifically Cohen, who hosts the network's wildly popular "Watch What Happens Live" and "Real Housewives" reunions, also shared his thoughts on Taylor's exit, calling it a "good decision."
Jax Taylor Has People In His Corner

"I think it's a good decision," Cohen told PEOPLE during the Las Culturistas Culture Awards on July 17. "I think he needs to work out sh-t without cameras around."
In March 2025, weeks before season 2 of "The Valley" aired, Taylor opened up about his decades-long addiction to cocaine. He also revealed that since coming forward, he had been pursuing sobriety and had celebrated over 100 days without cocaine or alcohol.
Cohen went on to say that Taylor seemed "very committed" to his sobriety journey when the pair caught up at "The Valley" reunion, which will begin airing July 29, 2025.
"This comes up at the reunion — I have kind of a serious conversation with him about his need for control and his anger issues, and what it's going to take to get to a better place with Brittany and in the world," Cohen shared. "And I hope he takes the time to lean into this, away from the cameras."
Taylor's Estranged Wife Once Threatened To Call The Police On Him

In addition to his sobriety, Taylor is also dealing with a tumultuous divorce from his estranged wife, Cartwright.
Viewers saw some of the drama unfold on camera; however, during a previous interview, Cartwright revealed much more happened than the cameras were able to capture.
“I got everybody combined joining teams with me that he needed to get help,” she said. “If he does not go to rehab, I’m going to have to do something. The cops were almost called.”
She continued, “The cops were going to be called if he did not at least go and try to get help. I think, like 100 percent, he wouldn’t have went at that time because he was still in denial."
"You had to hit your rock bottom and stuff to actually want to go get help for yourself. For some reason, I think that he was still not at that rock bottom," Cartwright added.
Cartwright Says Taylor Resents Her

Cartwright went on to say that Taylor told her he'd "never forgive" her for urging him to check into a health facility; however, the mother of one seemed unbothered by his statement, explaining she always had his best interest at heart.
“I was like, ‘One day you will realize that I was the only person who loved you enough to make you do this,’” she said. “He still has his issues with me about it.”
