Beyond the 2-1 defeat to Girona on Monday night, FC Barcelona were dealt an additional blow as key defender Eric Garcia had to come off with muscular discomfort.
Having started the game at centre-back alongside Pau Cubarsi, the Spanish defender was subbed off in the 73rd minute after he felt some discomfort in the back of his left thigh.
The versatile star looked dejected as he walked off the pitch and reports suggested that the early signs were not very positive.
No injury to Garcia
However, according to the latest update from journalist Helena Condis of COPE, Barcelona can breathe a sigh of relief as Garcia has not suffered an injury.
Indeed, the 25-year-old Spanish ace underwent medical tests today, which have ruled out a hamstring injury to the player.

This will come as a major relief for Barcelona, considering how important Garcia is to manager Hansi Flick’s plans.
So far this season, the versatile Spaniard has played in each of Barça’s 38 matches across all competitions, shining brightly irrespective of his position on the pitch – be it at centre-back, right-back, or defensive midfield.
Beyond his contributions at the back, Garcia has also chipped in with a goal and an assist so far this season.
Considering his growth in stature over the past year, Barcelona rewarded Eric with a new contract recently, securing his future at the club until 2031.
