Marcos Senesi has been linked to Chelsea in recent weeks, but seem to have dropped out of the race as top European sides bid.
A Tweet from Nicolo Schira today is saying more with what it doesn’t say that with what it does.
The Italian transfer insider notes that Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi is speaking to a number of clubs ahead of becoming a free agent in the summer – but Chelsea aren’t among those listed.
We’ve been linked to him a fair bit in recent months, but it seems now that we’re not as keen as some of our rivals. The likes of Dortmund, Barcelona, Atletico and Man U are mentioned. Chelsea are not.
Blues drop out of race for impressive Premier League defender

Nicolo Schira lists the teams interested in Marcos Senesi – Chelsea aren’t in there.
We’re not that surprised to see Chelsea’s name left off that list. This deal felt possible, as it’s a free transfer, but given the quantity of central defenders on our books right now it never felt likely.
Given Senesi can now speak openly with clubs, Chelsea would have needed to make a decisive move for him sooner rather than later. The Blues aren’t sure which defenders they will be able to move on in the summer, so the idea that they could commit to a contract for a 28 year old now never felt likely.
In other news…
Chelsea have a lot of action incoming this summer – Emmanuel Emegha has been signed, and we now know that Nicolas Jackson is coming back too. How we figure out what happens with those two is another question.
A piece from Football.London claims that a lot of clubs want Jackson – but we’re struggling to work out who would be able to afford him at the price we might ask for.
