PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Local restaurants and bars are packed with football fans watching the Super Bowl tonight, but there is one place in Portland with a personal connection to what is happening on the field.
“Number one dad. Of course, I’ve got to be able to cheer on the Seahawks because of my son,” said Jim Rice, owner of The Fields Bar and Grill.
The Northwest Portland establishment is very busy on Super Bowl Sunday. But the owner is also doing double duty, as his son, Christian, is one of the Seahawks dancers who will be performing.
“There is no way that I can be able to describe how excited our entire family is wrapped around what Christian’s been able to accomplish,” Rice said.

Every table at the bar has been booked for weeks. Many people, even those who are not from the Pacific Northwest, are rooting for the Seahawks.
It turns out, New England Patriots Fans are just as dedicated, and they’re ready to cheer on their favorite players.
“I moved here three years ago, and I’m all about the Pacific Northwest, but I got to be loyal to my team,” said Patrick Wong, a New England Patriots fan.
No matter who you’re rooting for, game day is great for business.
“This is a great boom. And without doubt, our industry definitely needs it,” he said.
