The Cleveland Browns went an unorthodox route, hiring a first-time, 59-year-old head coach, Todd Monken. However, the move has come with nothing but praise from those who have worked with Monken over the years.
First, it was former Baltimore Ravens and current New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh who left a glowing review of Monken. Now, another former head coach that Monken spent time with at the college level is raving about the Browns' new head coach. Georgia Football head coach Kirby Smart has left rave reviews for Monken, who spent three seasons as the offensive coordinator in Athens and won two national championships.
Here is what Smart had to say on the Browns' newest head coach:
"Todd brought an exceptional level of professionalism and creativity to our program. His ability to develop quarterbacks and craft game plans tailored to our players' strengths was instrumental to our success. What we accomplished wouldn't have been possible without his impact. We're incredibly excited for Todd and Terri."

Monken has called successful offenses at both the NFL and college level over the past six seasons. Let's see if that translates to his second stint in Cleveland.
