- England to win The Lionesses are favourites for victory after scoring 10 goals in their last two games of the group stage and are unbeaten in their last three meetings with Sweden, including a 4-0 in the semi finals of this competition three years ago
- Both teams to score Only three teams scored more goals than the Swedes in group stage of this summer’s Euros, one of which were England, following the Scandinavian side’s 4-1 win over Germany last weekend
- Alessia Russo to score Only Beth Mead has scored more international goals for the Lionesses than the Arsenal striker, who found her goalscoring boots on Sunday with a goal in England’s 6-1 win over Wales
- Ella Toone to have a shot on target Toone is England’s joint-leading goalscorer at this summer’s Euros with goals in each of her last two appearances in Switzerland
Reigning European champions England continue the defence of their title on Thursday night as they take on Sweden for a place in the semi finals having secured their progression from Group D with a romping 6-1 win over Wales in St Gallen on Sunday night.
Sarina Wiegman’s side managed to recover from their opening day defeat at the hands of France to still qualify comfortably from their group, aided by a 4-0 win over 2019 champions the Netherlands in their second game before putting six past their local rivals in their final group game.
The Lionesses couldn’t manage to finish top of their ‘Group of Death’ but a second placed finish has put them on the kinder side of the draw, meaning they avoid the likes of world champions Spain and record eight-time champions Germany until the final, should they get there.

Sweden surprised many by finishing on top of Group C following a thumping 4-1 win over a much-fancied Germany side in their final group game of their campaign, ensuring they finish with a 100% record after wins over Denmark and Poland in their previous outings.
Peter Gerhardsson’s side’s win over Germany means his Swedish team are now unbeaten in all competitions across the last 12 months winning 12 of their last 16 matches in that timespan – a run that started with a goalless draw against England.
Sweden, inaugural champions of Europe in 1984, haven’t beaten England since the 2019 World Cup third place play-off, with their last meeting in this competition ending in a 4-0 defeat to the Lionesses in the semi final three years ago.
However the last two meetings between these sides have both ended in stalemates, each coming in qualification for this summer’s Euros last year.
