Another day in the transfer window has come and gone and Lane Kiffin’s first LSU roster took another step toward being fleshed out.

Kiffin flew up to Knoxville Friday night to try and get back in the good graces of quarterback Sam Leavitt, and while Kiffin was up in Tennessee, he ended up snagging a former Vol out of the portal.

LSU is adding William Satterwhite to its transfer portal class. Satterwhite was a four-star prospect coming out of Ohio, and in the eight games he appeared in 2025, he took 137 snaps at center. Satterwhite played in just three games in 2024, and took a redshirt meaning he comes to LSU with three seasons of eligibility remaining.

While nothing is official yet, Braelin Moore is expected to return to LSU in 2026, so expect Satterwhite to be Moore’s primary backup this season and ought to inherit the job in 2027. With his size and (relative) amount of experience, maybe Satterfield could even push for a starting guard spot in 2026.

LSU wasn’t done adding to the offense on Saturday. The Tigers also welcome Tyree Holloway, a wide receiver out of West Florida to the class. Holloway began his career at the Division II level with Chowan University, and in 2025 with West Florida he caught 34 passes for 661 yards and scored eight touchdowns.

Holloway is the seventh wide receiver LSU has added out of the portal which is peculiar since the Tigers still don’t have a quarterback on hand. That might be changing soon though.

Former USC quarterback Husan Longstreet put his name into the transfer portal on Friday, and on Saturday he was in Baton Rouge visiting LSU. Longstreet was a five-star prospect in the 2025 cycle. He was viewed as the No. 21 overall prospect and fourth-best quarterback in the class, and was being recruited to Ole Miss by Kiffin and Charlie Weis Jr. before ultimately signing with the Trojans.

Longstreet only threw 15 passes this year, throwing for 105 yards and one touchdown. He also ran for two touchdowns.

Longstreet wasn’t LSU’s Plan A for a quarterback when the portal opened. That was Trinidad Chambliss. Longstreet wasn’t LSU’s Plan B either, that was either Brennan Sorsby or Sam Leavitt. He wasn’t LSU’s Plan C either once Demond Williams Jr. said he was going into the portal, and Longstreet probably wasn’t Plan D considering Kiffin flew up to Tennessee to try and win back Leavitt. But LSU still doesn’t have a scholarship quarterback on the roster, and there’s worse contingency plans than betting on the pedigree of a five-star that the new boss already has a relationship with.
