England have made it through to the knockout stages of Women’s Euro 2025 as their title defence continues, live on talkSPORT.

The Lionesses’ stunning triumph at Wembley in 2022 marked the first major trophy of any senior England team since the 1966 World Cup.

The tournament was the women’s national team’s maiden silverware, which Sarina Wiegman’s side following up with Finalissima glory.

England were given a tough group for Euro 2025, drawing the Netherlands, France and home nation rivals Wales.

And after losing to France in their opening game, their chances of making it through to the knockout stages looked slim.

However, big wins against the Netherlands and Wales in their following two games saw them cruise through in the end.

It has now set up a tough quarter-final tie in Switzerland and here’s all you need to know…

England’s next opponent at Euro 2025

England will face Sweden in the Women’s Euro 2025 quarter-finals.

The game will take place on Thursday, July 17 at 8pm UK time and is being played at Stadion Letzigrund in Zurich.

Sweden topped Group C after winning every game of their tournament so far, only conceding once.

After beating Denmark in their opener, they followed it up with another victory against Poland.

And they then wrapped the group up with a thrashing of Germany.

It means England face a very tough task as they look to book their place in the semi-finals of this tournament.

Whichever teams comes out on top in the quarter-final clash will take on Italy next.

On the other side of the bracket, France, Germany, Spain and hosts Switzerland make up the fixtures.
