Shawn Booth got real about his biggest pet peeve — and his ex-fiancée Kaitlyn Bristowe remembers it all too well.

“Easily one of my biggest pet peeves is when you stop your car for somebody to let them cross the street, and they don’t wave,” Booth, 38, shared via TikTok on Tuesday, December 30. “Come on, all you gotta do is say, ‘Thank you. Appreciate it.’”

The former Bachelorette winner explained that if those kind words are uttered, he would simply respond, “‘Alright, you’re welcome.’ Then we go on with our days.”

Booth then asked, “Is it that hard to say thank you?”

As fans sounded off in the comments section, Booth’s ex Bristowe, 40, chimed in on the topic as well.

“I actually remember this FIRING you up,” she wrote back, giving a little insight into their past relationship.

Although it’s been 10 years since Bristowe and Booth’s love story played out on season 11 of The Bachelorette, some fans are still intrigued by their relationship, split and current dynamic.

Fans were introduced to Booth on The Bachelorette in 2015 where he fought for Bristowe’s final rose. (Bristowe, meanwhile, appeared on The Bachelor during season 19 before becoming the lead of the spinoff.)

After making it to the finals with Nick Viall, Bristowe ultimately picked Booth and he subsequently proposed during the finale.

Following the show, Bristowe and Booth moved to Nashville together but weren’t in any rush to walk down the aisle.

“We came off the show and into our engagement and have really just been taking things stride by stride,” Booth exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2018. “We have our own stride with how we want to take our relationship from the show out into the real world and it really has been an adjustment. But we’ve always been on the same page. We click like that. We’ve been normal and want to keep that normalcy.”

Six months later, the pair confirmed that they called off their engagement and had parted ways.

Kaitlyn Bristowe Thinks Jason Tartick Relationship ‘Could Be a Trauma Bond’

“After three incredible years, we have decided to go our separate ways. This difficult decision comes after thoughtful, respectful consideration,” Bristowe and Booth said in a November 2018 joint statement. “Even though we are parting as a couple, we’re very much committed to remaining friends. We have both evolved as people, which is taking us in different directions, but with the hope that we will continue to support each other in new ways. Due to the nature of how we met, our relationship has always been very public, and we have enjoyed sharing it with all of you, but we ask that you respect our decision and our privacy at this time.”

Although Bristowe moved on with Bachelor Nation’s Jason Tartickwhom she dated from 2019 to 2023 — she didn’t shy away from slowly peeling back the curtain on what happened between her and Booth.

During an April 2025 episode of her “Off the Vine” podcast, Bristowe revealed she felt like Booth was “hanging on to the relationship to open his gym” in Tennessee before calling things off.

“I felt used. I did not feel loved. I felt like he knew that us together was better than him on his own,” she shared. “I’m saying this from my standpoint, I’m not saying he actually did this.”

Booth, who shares son Locks, 2, with girlfriend Audrey “Dre” Joseph, has also given insight into his and Bristowe’s failed relationship over the years.

“I think love is a loose term, like, looking back at it,” Booth said of his and Bristowe’s three-year relationship during a November 2021 episode of the “Austin AF” podcast. “There was, like, a serious connection. I don’t know if it was true, true love. I guess it wasn’t because we’d still be together if it was.”

Bachelor's Kaitlyn and Ben Were Hurt When Exes Said Romances Weren’t Real

While Booth and Bristowe have both pointed out the faults in their relationship in the press, Bristowe explained in April 2025 that she is “happy” for her ex after he became a dad in 2023.

“I feel like I’ve gotten really quiet with thoughts of anger that I used to have toward him, and now I actually have compassion instead of anger,” Bristowe said on her podcast. “And I’ve moved through a lot of emotions for him, where I actually want to hug him and, like, be friends and say, like, ‘You’ve shared with me why this hurt you so bad, and you wanted to get me back, and we were both vindictive, and it was in this time in my life.’ But like, I’m so happy for him and where he’s at right now.”
