The Big Apple is home to one of the most interesting quarterback rooms in the NFL.

The New York Giants are set to have Russell Wilson be their QB1 as the season gets underway.

But it could potentially be a very short leash. Forget the fact that a more than qualified Jameis Winston is chomping at the bit to be a starter again, the Giants also have first round pick Jaxson Dart in the fold, ready to compete.

The Giants signed Wilson to a one-year, $10.5 million contract this offseason, that could reach $21 million with incentives. They also inked Winston to a two-year, $8 million contract.

Then they took Dart with the 25th overall pick, leading to quite the crowded and fascinating QB room.

Bleacher Report recently came out with a list predicting every potential bust of the 2025 season, and Wilson leads the way.

“There didn’t seem to be a lot of interest in Wilson this offseason, which is unsurprising after he faded down the stretch with the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Kristopher Knox of BR wrote.

“It felt like the Giants were bidding against themselves to land the 36-year-old, and they’re unlikely to get a strong return on investment.

“If Wilson even wins the starting job out of training camp, don’t expect him to make New York a playoff contender or make fans forget that Dart is waiting in the wings.”

The talented 22-year-old quarterback will certainly be waiting in the wings, as Giants fans will watch every Wilson pass with an eager eye towards Dart.

The rookie QB recently posted a video to social media, ripping a football on a boat, across a lake and nailing his target on a jetski.

“Jaxson Dart has an absolute CANNON,” B/R Gridiron captioned the post, complimenting the Giants rookie’s arm.

Wilson finds himself on his third team in three years, after a disastrous stint with the Denver Broncos and a mediocre year in Pittsburgh.

He now aims to revive his career in New York, while Dart, and to a certain extent Winston, breathe down his neck.

Wilson started 11 games last year for the Steelers, leading them to six wins. He threw for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns and 5 interceptions.

They made the playoffs as a wild card team, but lost to Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in the first round.

Meanwhile, Dart was somewhat of a surprising first round selection, going way earlier than Shedeur Sanders, who many predicted to be the second quarterback drafted. Dart went 25th, while Sanders lasted all the way into the fifth round and taken with the 144th pick by the Cleveland Browns.

Dart was coming off his senior year at Mississippi in which he threw for 4,279 yards, 29 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll heads into his fourth year as the man in charge of the G-Men and will be under a microscope, coming off two extremely poor seasons.

The Giants went a surprising 9-7-1 in Daboll’s first year in 2022, even winning a road playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings. But since then, it’s been bad.

After going 6-11 in 2023, they bottomed out to just 3-14 last season, leading to an extremely warm seat for Daboll as the season approaches.

He will be doing whatever it takes to get the Giants back on track. Whether that’s Wilson, Winston or Dart under center, he’s not going to care, as long as they win.
