Dec. 9—WILLMAR — All signs are pointing toward a competitive season in the Minnesota Christian Athletic Conference for the Community Christian School boys basketball team.

CCS, which is coming off an 18-8 season in the MCAC, returns three starters despite losing a trio of contributors from last year's team which won the Tier 1 consolation championship.

Jack Velyan and Andrew Borstad highlight the losses. Velyan, who was an All-MCAC Second Team pick, scored 9.4 points per contest. Borstad posted 11.8 points per game.

Other contributors who graduated last year are Jack Kreps, Sawyer Kimball and Carl Benson.

Yet, outside of that lost production, the Eagles bring back star Brady Reinertson in 2025-26.

Reinertson, a 6-foot-2 sophomore guard, is coming off an All-Area Honorable Mention freshman year where he averaged 21.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 4.0 steals per contest. He was named to the All-MCAC First Team last season.

CCS also has returning starters David and Sam Mulder back.

David Mulder, a 5-10 senior guard, collected 8.7 and 4.0 steals per game a season ago. Sam Mulder, a 5-11 guard, tallied 4.4 points per contest.

Others who are expected to contribute are seniors Zephaniah Bonnema and Keith Hahn as well as junior Peyton Mulder, who is poised to play significant minutes for the Eagles.

CCS, which will continue to play in the MCAC's South Division, has two assistant coaches working with head coach Allan Cronen. Matt and Ben Reinertson make up Cronen's staff.
