It didn't take long for Ray J to fire back at ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith, who recently voiced his displeasure with the "One Wish" singer over his earlier comments about Beyoncé and Jay Z (the Carters). In a new video, Ray J questioned why Smith, whose area of expertise is professional sports, would take time to comment on pop culture news. He took it even further, wondering whether Smith had ties to the Carter family, as he seemingly rushed to defend them in a situation he had nothing to do with.
Ray J Slams Stephen A. Smith, Who Called Him Out For Being In His Feelings About Beyoncé And Jay Z
In his video shared online, Ray J began by saying he owes much of his success to his older sister, Brandy. "She's put me in everything she's ever been in," he said. "I'm dedicated to her."
Continuing, Ray J stated he was "shocked" to see Smith involve himself in his beef with the Carters, "because this isn't your lane." Ray J added that he felt slighted by Smith's comments because he doesn't know him personally.
"How dare you say I'm in my feelings?" he continued. "You're in your feelings, bro. Why are you talking about it? Why are you expressing your feelings about it?"
He didn't stop there, though. Ray J said that his dealings with Beyoncé and Jay Z are nothing but "family business" before stating that the way Smith went about addressing the situation was "disrespectful."
What Did Ray J Say About Beyoncé?
For those who may be unfamiliar with the situation, Ray J recently voiced his frustrations with Beyoncé and Jay Z for allegedly ignoring his sister, Brandy, backstage at her ongoing "The Boy Is Mine Tour."
"N—as need to pull up when they come to the show. Come say what's up to Brandy too, Jay-Z and Beyoncé," Ray J said in the video, according to The Blast.
"For y'all to come to every one of Brandy and Monica's shows and never say what's up to B and take all the pictures, I don't like it." Ray J went on, blasting the Carters and stating that they could "just walk by Brandy's room and pull up and say, 'What's up, B? Have a good show.'"
Smith Responds To Ray J's Initial Video
Smith clearly didn't agree with Ray J's stance, criticizing the "I Hit It First" singer during his recent appearance on The Shade Room's live stream.
"What you caught up in your feelings for to the point where you have to broadcast it to the world?" the ESPN star asked. "Why? There are worse things to happen to us than not have pictures taken with somebody."
He went on, wondering why Ray J felt the need to make his grievances with the Carters public information. "Why does everybody have to know everything?"
Ray J Clarifies That He Has Love For Beyoncé And Jay Z

While Ray J clapped back at Smith, it appears the singer's social media followers agreed with his initial statement.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Ray J. Brandy deserves the same respect," a user commented.
Another user agreed and stated they could "respect" where Ray J was coming from as a younger sibling.
In his most recent video, Ray J clarified where he stands with Beyoncé and Jay Z, reiterating that he has a lot of love and respect for the legendary couple.
"I respect Jay Z, I respect Beyoncé," he said. "Everything I said was by myself—Brandy never cosigned it, Monica never cosigned it."
Brandy And Monica Seem To Move On Past Ray J's Antics

Indeed, it would appear the two "Boy Is Mine" singers weren't involved in Ray J's social media antics.
During their December 4 show in Atlanta, Georgia, Monica joked on stage that she had taken Ray J's phone to prevent any unexpected rants.
"Before we leave here, I am going to take Ray J's phone," she said. "Ray J, give me the phone… give me the phone, Ray."
She went further, expressing her appreciation for the "Love & Hip Hop" star inside of State Farm Arena.
"We love you, Ray J. Y'all make some noise for Ray J. He's not just Brandy's brother, but he's my brother, too," she said.
