With the January transfer window not far away, Real Madrid are staring at an uncertain period with injuries and question marks over manager Xabi Alonso’s plans.
One operation that seemed set in stone to take place in the winter window was the loan departure of Endrick.
An agreement between Real Madrid and Olympique Lyon over a loan deal for the Brazilian striker is pretty much done, while the player himself is on board with the switch.
Real Madrid ask Endrick to hit pause
However, according to the latest update from Marcos Benito on El Chiringuito, Real Madrid have asked Endrick to wait before booking his house in Lyon.
The Brazilian striker’s entourage had a trip to France planned for this week, to finalise all preparations before he moved to the Groupama Stadium once the transfer window opens.

However, Endrick’s camp had to cancel the trip after Real Madrid requested to wait before making the final preparations for his loan move to Lyon.
This development comes amidst the uncertainty surrounding the future of Alonso, who might be on his way out if things do not go Real Madrid’s way against Manchester City.
Moreover, there are numerous injuries in the squad. And even though most of them are in the defensive unit, it appears that Real Madrid want to be cautious and not sanction Endrick’s exit and then deal with an injury crisis in attack.
So, it will be interesting to see how things evolve in the coming weeks and whether Endrick, who was shown a red card while on the bench against Celta Vigo, secures a loan exit or not in January.
