The comment from Alvaro Carreras that got him sent off vs Celta Vigo
The comment from Alvaro Carreras that got him sent off vs Celta Vigo

Real Madrid endured one of their most embarrassing nights of the season at the Santiago Bernabeu, falling 0–2 to Celta Vigo in a match that spiraled out of control both on the pitch and in the tunnel.

What started as a poor performance quickly descended into chaos, with the home side finishing the game with nine men after referee Quintero Gonzalez dismissed both Fran Garcia and Alvaro Carreras in the second half.

As such, the referee’s report sheds light on the decisions that shaped the night.

What was said?

Carreras, who had already been booked, earned his marching orders after confronting the referee.

Quintero Gonzalez, according to AS, wrote in his official documentation the exact words Carreras used when disputing the call.

According to the report, Carreras told the referee, “You’re terrible,” which earned him a second yellow card on the spot.

The disciplinary chaos did not stop there. Endrick, who was on the bench, reacted furiously to the officiating and had to be restrained by members of the technical staff.

His behaviour was also noted in the referee’s report, meaning he too faces punishment.

Potential punishment for the two

As for Carreras, the situation is more severe. Based on precedent, he is expected to receive at least a two-game ban under Article 124 of the Disciplinary Code.

Endrick’s case mirrors the same rule, and he is almost certain to be sidelined for the final two league matches before departing for Lyon in January

Unless Xabi Alonso unexpectedly uses him in the Copa del Rey or against Manchester City, his season with Real Madrid appears effectively over.

The defeat, the ill-discipline, and the post-match confrontations have left Real Madrid facing not only the embarrassment of a home loss but also a fresh disciplinary storm with consequences that will spill into the remainder of their campaign.
