Allen (Texas) has enjoyed a tremendous season so far, winning all 13 of its games up to this point.

Now, the Eagles can make their season even more memorable with a win against the defending University Interscholastic League 6A Division I champions.

Allen takes on those defending state champs, North Crowley, in the 6A DI Region I championship game, which takes place Friday night in Denton at DATCU Stadium.

Allen comes into Friday’s playoff showdown with a perfect 13-0 record. The Eagles have generally been rolling in their games, with only two teams getting to within seven points; though one of those teams, Lewisville, pushed Allen to the limit in the bi-district round before the Eagles pulled out a 22-15 win.

But the Eagles have rounded into form more in their next two playoff games, beating Lake Highlands 41-7 in the area round and Odessa Permian in last week’s regional semifinals, 56-13.

North Crowley (12-1), which went a perfect 16-0 last season en route to winning state, won three close games to start this season before stumbling at home to Rockwall. But since then, the Panthers have turned things up a notch, reeling off nine straight wins - all by double digits. That included last week’s 46-21 win against Coppell in the regional semis.

The Allen-North Crowley winner takes on the winner of the Region II championship game, Waxahachie against Duncanville, in next week’s 6A DI state semifinals. Waxahachie takes on Duncanville on Saturday in Midlothian.

FOURTH QUARTER

- SAFETY ALLEN. North Crowley pinned deep in its own territory, and the Panthers were called for intentional grounding in their own end zone. (Allen, 33-21 | 2:47, 4th) 

- TOUCHDOWN NORTH CROWLEY. Hayes Cloutier gets the Panthers closer with a 9-yard TD run. (Allen, 31-21 | 5:14, 4th) 

- FIELD GOAL ALLEN. Eagles have a three-score advantage, as Preston Hurless drills one from 28 yards out. (Allen, 31-14 | 7:45, 4th) 

- North Crowley got the ball back but had to punt it away. Then, the Panthers get penalized for fair catch interference, and the Eagles have possession near midfield with 11:14 left.

THIRD QUARTER

- TOUCHDOWN NORTH CROWLEY. Panthers inching closer, completing a 14-play series, as G'yrell Smith caps it with a 3-yard run. (Allen, 28-14 | 1:34, 3rd) 

- TOUCHDOWN ALLEN. Eagles' QB Jeremiah Daoud with his 3rd TD pass of the night as he finds freshman TE Jaden Davis from 5 yards out. (Allen, 28-7 | 6:04, 3rd) 

- Allen's defense forces a three-and-out to start the second half, and North Crowley will punt it away. 

HALFTIME

- Allen tried a Hail Mary attempt on the final play of the half, but the pass was picked off. However, the Eagles still maintain a two-touchdown lead at intermission. 

SECOND QUARTER

- Allen punts near midfield and North Crowley takes over near its own 15 with less than two minutes to go in the half. 

- TOUCHDOWN ALLEN. Eagles score again, and with a little luck as they fumble going into the end zone, but an Allen player pounces on the ball. Allen has scored touchdowns in all three of its possessions thus far. (Allen, 21-7 | 10:05, 2nd) 

- Allen is in the red zone early in the quarter, looking to go up by double digits. 

FIRST QUARTER

- TOUCHDOWN ALLEN. Eagles quickly regain the lead five plays later. Moments after a 60-yard pass from Jeremiah Daoud to Carter Harris, Daoud connects with Caleb Smith for a 16-yard scoring toss. (Allen, 14-7 | 2:47, 1st) 

- TOUCHDOWN NORTH CROWLEY. Panthers respond with a 13-play drive, capped by a 10-yard dash into the end zone by G'yrell Smith. (7-7 | 4:33, 1st) 

- TOUCHDOWN ALLEN. Eagles strike quickly on their opening drive, as Jeremiah Daoud hits Carter Harris on a 37-yard scoring pass on fourth-and-long. (Allen, 7-0 | 9:53, 1st)
