Cyber Monday gaming laptop deals under $1000

This is a pretty appealing price for a capable 16-inch gaming laptop with a modern GPU. Sure, it's an RTX 5050, which needs to be affordable to be worthwhile, but this Acer Nitro V 16 AI is certainly that. It has a good screen for the money, too: a 180 Hz, 1200p IPS. Oh, and while the storage capacity isn't great, there's space for another drive under the hood.

The LOQ might have something of a budget chassis, but it regularly crops up with a substantial discount, making it a great pick for those looking to save some cash. This one's got a 100 W variant of the RTX 5060, which is a decent dose of power for this price range, and while the 1080p 144 Hz display isn't wonderful, it should help to keep frame rates high. I'd like to see a bigger SSD, as 512 GB is very tight—but sticking an extra drive in the second M.2 slot later on is an easy upgrade.

I've no idea why this sub-$1,000 HP machine has a super-quick, 16-core, 32-thread AMD chip from the previous generation nestled inside, but it makes for quite the bargain. The RTX 5060 looks to be a 115 W variant, too (insert my usual complaint about HP not listing GPU wattages on its specs page). It's also got a 1200p display to deal with, which should suit that mobile graphics chip very nicely. The SSD is too small, though, although it's an easy enough upgrade later on.

This lappy has a truly lovely OLED display, which is very rare to see on a laptop at this price. And while the 115 W RTX 5060 will need some DLSS help to make the most of its 1600p panel, this is still a great selection of components for the cash—although I'd like to see a bigger SSD. Still, at least it's an easy upgrade. Lenovo makes some excellent gaming laptops, and this one delivers serious bang for your buck.

The Alienware 16 Aurora has dropped to reasonable money again, and it makes for a tempting machine. It's worth noting, though, that the RTX 5060 is limited to an 85 W TGP, so it's got its work cut out for it driving this 1600p IPS display. Still, if you don't mind leaning on DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation to get the frame rates up in the demanding stuff, it's still a whole lot of laptop for the money. 32 GB of DDR5 is especially nice to see at this price, and it's got a decent 1 TB of NVMe storage as standard, too.

It's very difficult to find good RTX 5060 laptops for under $1,000 at the moment, but this HP machine squeaks under the wire with a great specs sheet for the cash. This one's got a six Performance core Intel chip, a 1 TB SSD, and a 1200p screen, which should go nicely with that budget gaming GPU. It's difficult to find the exact TGP spec, but I'd imagine it was an 75 W - 85 W variant—which should still deliver decent gaming performance at that resolution, although you'll still need to take advantage of DLSS 4 in the super-demanding stuff.

We've been very impressed by the design of this laptop, and while the RTX 5060 variant is a touch underpowered (although a good machine if you can find it for the right price), this 85 W RTX 5070-equipped machine is much more like it, even with the juice turned down a little. Like the RTX 5060 version above, you get an Intel chip with six P-cores and four E-cores, 32 GB of DDR5, and a decent-sized SSD thrown into the bargain. Pretty good going for the cash, I reckon.

This is a super-slim and portable 14-inch gaming laptop, and while the hardware inside isn't the most powerful you can get for the money, the fact that you can easily slip it into a shoulder bag is pretty impressive. Dollars to donuts, it's a low-wattage RTX 5060 variant, and the 1800p panel means you'll absolutely need to make use of DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation to make the most of its 120 Hz refresh rate, but still—hyper portable laptops come with caveats, and this is still a very good machine for the price. Plus, an OLED display and 32 GB of RAM? Yes please.

Ah, I've got a particular hankering for this machine, as the Asus TUF chassis designs are much better these days, and the components you get for the cash are downright impressive. This one's got a 115 W RTX 5070 in combination with an eight-core 16-thread AMD chip and 32 GB of DDR5, which is a bit of a holy trinity of laptop components. The display might not be the highest resolution at 1200p, but it also shouldn't tax that GPU too hard when making the most of its 165 Hz refresh rate. Yep, this is a seriously good laptop spec, now at a very attractive price.

With a 110 W version of the older, yet still very capable RTX 4070, this hyper-portable Acer still has plenty of grunt about it, and that 120 Hz refresh 1600p panel will make a really crisp screen for a 14-inch laptop. You're also getting a full 1 TB SSD alongside your 16 GB of soldered memory (no upgrades happening there) and a decent Meteor Lake CPU at its heart. It's one of Intel's more efficient chips, with six Performance and eight Efficient cores, which ought to help with the battery life of this travel-friendly little machine.

The Vector 16 HX AI is usually the cheapest RTX 5070 Ti laptop out there, but this non-AI-branded version with a seriously powerful CPU is now outrageously good value for the components you receive. Sitting somewhere under the RTX 5080 and well above the RTX 5070 in terms of gaming performance, the RTX 5070 Ti is a great upper mid-range laptop GPU. Plus, the CPU, while being one of AMD's last-gen models, is a 16-core 32-thread monster. In short, it's an absolute beast for the cash.

The little ROG Zephyrus G14 2025 might be noisier than the previous model, but it's still a great 14-inch gaming laptop pick. This one's got a 90 W RTX 5060, which will likely need some DLSS assistance to make the most of its 1800p display. That being said, it's a gorgeous OLED panel, and the chassis design here is just as good as it ever was. Slim, stylish, and easy to throw in a backpack—with a good dose of gaming power tucked inside its aluminium frame.

For those who like their laptops on the larger side, how about this 17-inch HP Omen machine? It's got an eight-core 16-thread modern AMD CPU, 32 GB of DDR5 (luxury) and a 1 TB SSD, along with an RTX 5070 with what looks to be a 100 W TGP—although HP has helpfully not specified the exact wattage. Still, with a 240 Hz 1440p panel on board, your games should look fabulous—and the graphics chip should have less work to do compared to 1600p or higher equivalents.

Sure, it's a lot of money for an RTX 5060 machine, especially as this one's got an 1800p display to push with its mobile GPU. That being said, it is a 115 W variant of said graphics chip, and the form factor (in combination with that gorgeous 120 Hz OLED panel) makes this our favourite 14-inch gaming laptop design overall. You're going to want the RTX 5070 version if you can spare the extra cash, but this one's still a great deal with plenty of hyper-portable gaming potential.

This Acer machine has a 240 Hz OLED panel, which is about as high-spec a display as you'll find on gaming laptops right now for this sort of cash. Speaking of which, it's also a fantastic price for an RTX 5070 Ti machine, even if this GPU has had its power reigned in to a 115 W limit. It should still deliver great gaming performance with a bit of DLSS shove behind its already sizable grunt, and it's got 32 GB of RAM crammed into its slim and svelte frame. Quite the deal, this one.

An OLED display, a full-fat RTX 5070, and a 20-core Intel CPU? Don't mind if I do. This Lenovo lappy has a serious amount of firepower for the cash, but the real star feature is that 16-inch 1600p panel. You'll still need a dash of DLSS and perhaps the odd sprinkle of Multi Frame Generation to really make the most of it, but this is a laptop with a handsome set of features (and a lovely chassis) for very sensible money, and quite the desirable thing. Plus, 32 GB of RAM amid a supply shortage? Luxury, if you ask me.

In his Blade 14 review, our Dave said it's "a huge improvement over last year's model, and there's now no other gaming laptop I'd want to have my digits on or spend my money on." And he stands by that, which is no surprise as he's made this little marvel his daily driver. It's one of the most desirable laptops on the planet right now, if you ask us.

This is one of the cheapest RTX 5080 gaming laptops I've ever seen. This one's got a hefty 32 GB dose of DDR5, a full-wattage 175 W RTX 5080, and a 24-core Intel chip with plenty of grunt. Plus, it's all encased in a lovely chassis design. It's rather noisy, as we found in our review, but there's relatively little to complain about given the performance you receive for the price.

It might seem strange for an RTX 5070 gaming laptop to be listed here at this price, but when you consider it's a $900 saving on our best gaming laptop overall, it starts to make a whole lot of sense. The Blade 16 is incredibly slim, comes fitted with the best OLED laptop display we've ever seen, has a fabulous keyboard, runs cool and quiet, and is even capable of proper battery-based gaming—as we found in our review of the RTX 5090 model. Sure, this is still a lot of moolah to pay for an RTX 5070 machine, but I'd say this is definitely worth some serious consideration if you've got the cash to splash.

It's still very difficult to find most RTX 5080 laptops for anything close to $2,000 right now, so this one represents pretty stunning value. Our Dave reviewed the Vector 16 HX AI earlier this year and likes the value proposition you get when you take into account that mega GPU, although it is a bit of a hairdryer on full whack. Still, stick it in Balanced mode and the noise is much more reasonable, and it still performs about as well as the other RTX 5080 machines we've tested. Which is to say, very well indeed.

Our best high-performance gaming laptop pick features a monstrous collection of components, and this is the cheapest I can find it for in full game-crunching trim. The RTX 5080 is a full-strength 175 W variant, the panel is a 240 Hz OLED stunner, the Intel CPU is mega, and as our Dave found in his review, the gaming performance is simply excellent. It's one of the fastest laptops we've tested to date, yet comes wrapped in a chassis you'd actually want to show off—although it must be said, it's a pretty sizeable machine to lug around if you plan on taking it on your travels.

Handheld gaming PCs

Okay, the Steam Deck may have had an OLED refresh, and there are heaps of more powerful handhelds around, but the original version is still the archetype of what a mobile PC gaming device should be. It's just as powerful as the OLED model, so all those Steam Deck-compatible games should run well. It's the OG PC gaming handheld, and it still demands respect, although this particular version does have quite a small SSD. Replacing it later with a larger unit is no great hassle, however.

This is a handheld that's best served with a significant discount. That's because it's using a Meteor Lake chip from Intel that's not quite as good as the latest generation chips. However, the Core Ultra 5 135H is a pretty good get at this price, as it has the same GPU config (8 Xe-cores) as the higher-end version (that costs significantly more) with just two fewer CPU cores. For lightweight handheld gaming to rival a Steam Deck, it's pretty good, especially as it comes with 512 GB of storage.

The chip in this handheld is a little newer than the Steam Deck's and a little more powerful, too. It's not quite on par with the Z2 Extreme or even the older Z1 Extreme chip—you can thank AMD's marketing department for that one—but with this sorta discount means it's not too expensive versus a higher capacity Steam Deck. The 120 Hz at 1080p might be a push but you can absolutely get some good gaming done on the go here, and with SteamOS to lighten the load.

Our best gaming handheld pick has received a seriously tempting discount, and it's an excellent machine. The lightweight Steam OS integration in combination with its Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU means it's surprisingly powerful, all while being extremely comfortable to use and remarkably well-equipped. While you can find the Z2 Go version for cheaper, this is the one you want.

RTX 5060 gaming laptops are finally dropping well below the £1,000 mark, and this little Acer machine is now going for the same price I'm seeing many RTX 5050 laptops retailing for. It's a 75 W variant of Nvidia's budget mobile graphics chip, so it's not the most powerful, but when paired with a 1080p screen, it should still deliver good gaming performance on a tight budget.

This Alienware lappy does have a pretty heavy caveat—a 1600p screen represents a whole lot of pixels for an 85 W RTX 5060 to pump out. That being said, if you're prepared to lean on DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation, it should still do fine in most games—and the rest of the specs are reasonable for the price, too. It's not quite a monster of a gaming machine, but for under £1,000, it still makes for a very tempting offer.

The Lenovo Legion 5i is often on discount, which is a great thing for laptop deal hunters. This model is one of the cheapest RTX 5070 gaming laptops you'll find in the UK right now from a major manufacturer, and one that's worth some serious consideration. It's got a speedy Intel chip, a 115 W variant of Nvidia's mid-tier mobile GPU, and a proper 1 TB SSD, making it quite the catch. We love a Lenovo lappy, and this one makes a whole lot of sense.

It might have a slightly meagre 80 W power limit on the GPU, but this laptop should should still do fine pumping plenty of pixels at a 1080p display. It's a 17.3-inch panel, too, so this is definitely a deal for those who don't plan on moving their machine around much. Still, the AMD chip is a decent eight-core, 16-thread model, and you get a proper 1 TB SSD for a few large game installs. Not bad for the cash, I reckon.

For a whole penny under a grand, this Lenovo machine squeaks under the wire with an impressive specs sheet. You get a 115 W RTX 5060, a 14-core (six Performance, eight Efficient) Intel chip with plenty of gaming go, and a proper 1 TB SSD, which is rare to see at this price. The 512 GB version is slightly cheaper at Amazon (see the price check below), but 1 TB is much more like it in 2025. Plus, it's got a lovely chassis, which means you could use it in a meeting without inviting giggles from your peers. A genuinely great machine for the cash.

This Asus TUF A16 is a particular favourite of mine, as it usually turns up with a significant discount during the sales period. This one's got an older, yet still very powerful 16-core, 32-thread AMD CPU, a 115 W RTX 5070, and 32 GB of DDR5. Sure, it's only got a 1200p display, but that's the sweet spot for keeping your frame rates high without too much DLSS help, and your digital adventures should look lovely regardless.

With a full-strength 140 W RTX 5070 Ti at its heart, alongside a 14-core (eight Performance, 16 Efficient) Intel chip, this lappy has a sizeable amount of grunt contained within its frame. The 240 Hz 1600p display is a bit beastly, too, although if I was being picky with the specs sheet, I'd like it to have more RAM. Prices are running rampant on memory at the moment, but I'd still happily pick up this gaming laptop at this price and keep an eye on my background apps.

RTX 5080 machines are still eye-wateringly expensive for the most part, but we're big fans of this Vector lappy, especially because of the price. It might not have the prettiest chassis, but it's as fast as a very, very fast thing for a fair bit cheaper than most of the competition—with a speedy 240 Hz IPS panel thrown into the bargain, too. That makes it a genuine value proposition in a laptop market filled with extremely pricey equivalents. It's a smart buy, no doubt, although I'd stick a touch more RAM in it for cheap to really bring it up to mega spec.
