Jim Edmonds is presumably focused on his family while navigating an ongoing custody dispute with his ex-wife Meghan King.
“What a week! A lot to be thankful for,” Jim, 55, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, November 30, tagging his current wife, Kortnie Edmonds, in a handful of family photos.
In Jim’s photo carousel, he uploaded snaps from daughter Aspen’s Taylor Swift-themed 9th birthday bash. Aspen marked her big day with a cake that read, “Feeling 9 (Aspen’s Version),” alongside heart hands and guitar fondant shapes. There was even a pink football-shaped decoration featuring the number “87” written in red icing, an ode to Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, who wears a No. 87 jersey as a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Other images featured Aspen, Jim’s daughter with King, holding pink balloons and opening a toy Labubu doll.

Jim, a former pro baseball player, was married to King, 41, from 2014 to 2019. In addition to Aspen, the now-exes share 7-year-old twins Hart and Hayes.
King shared her own birthday tribute to Aspen earlier this week.
“My favorite female to ever walk the planet. The brightest light, my greatest joy,” King wrote via her Instagram Stories on Monday, November 24, alongside pics of her daughter. “A spectacular gift from God was born 9 years ago today. When I learned what love is. I love you Aspen King Edmonds. I love you to infinity.”

While Jim and King initially split custody of their children, the Real Housewives of Orange County alum lost her custodial rights earlier this month. Us Weekly broke the news on November 19 that King was stripped of her physical custody and granted supervised visitation rights. Jim was subsequently granted sole physical custody of all three children.
A source told Us at the time that the custody decision stemmed from a school employee calling Child Protective Services on King, which triggered an open investigation. The current custody decision is temporary until a forthcoming court hearing.
Neither King nor Jim have publicly addressed the custody drama. (Jim also has four older children from previous marriages.)
King previously told Us that she and Jim, who married Kortnie in 2022, had “come a long way” in their coparenting efforts.
“Things are good,” King exclusively told Us in March 2024, noting that she and Jim were “splitting” custody of Aspen, Hayes and Hart at the time. “I gave my kids Apple IDs, which you can do, by the way. You could still be [their] mom and they can have an Apple ID that’s totally restricted. It’s been smoother sailing, but I think it’s also because they’re older. Life stages change situations. We still have a ways to go.”

While speaking with Us, King also detailed where she stood with Kortnie.
“I mean, we’re not going out for happy hour, but I view [Kortnie] as a positive influence in my children’s lives,” King said of her children’s stepmother. “I’m grateful for that. … It’s only for the sake of the kids. It’s not, like, I’m trying to be besties with anybody. I think there’s a big difference between friendship and allyship. You can be aligned in the same purpose and goal, and you don’t even have to like the person, but it’s almost stronger than a friendship. You are both in the same boat and totally focused on the same general outcome.”
