The Irish Oaks features on Saturday’s card at the Curragh where already Minnie Hauk is the huge favourite for trainer Aidan O’Brien.

It’s still early ahead of the declarations for this Group 1 event but of course it’s the O’Brien-trained Frankel filly that looks set to win this comfortably.
Minnie Hauk won on debut this season ahead of Secret Of Love to win the Cheshire Oaks.
Confirming well that she has the stamina for the step up to 1m4f.
She then won the Oaks at Epsom by a neck to Whirl to establish herself in Group 1 filly company as the pair of O’Brien horses finished well clear of the rest of the field.
As a result, there aren’t many that should get close to her this weekend if she continues to progress and show that ability.
She’s got three wins from four now and her only defeat came on career debut at Cork, but that’s long behind her now.
The Curragh is quite different to Chester and Epsom which she seemed to love.
It’s not as sharp and is only the second course she’s trying that’s right-handed.
The last was at Cork so there could well be something in that though it’s unlikely for a horse of this calibre now.
The Curragh is also a galloping course with a bit of an uphill finish but I think given the way she likes sharp tracks, this will suit her nicely with the gradual horseshoe turn at the bottom of the course before the straight.
