Sadly, some things never change for ex-Pittsburgh Steelers QB Justin Fields, who's been benched for the second time this season and third time in two years — and it's clear he's had enough based on his encounter with a New York Jets reporter.
On Friday, Jets beat writer Brian Costello detailed a tense moment he shared with Fields following the news of his benching in New York. Claiming he didn't have time to talk with reporters, Fields didn't hesitate to drop an expletive-filled response to his current situation.
"There's no reaction," Fields told Costello about his benching. "That's life. Sh-- happens."
Approached Justin Fields at his locker. He said he was going to get a massage and did not have time to talk. I asked his reaction to move.

“there’s no reaction. That’s life. Shit happens.”
For not having a reaction, he certainly didn't mince words with Costello.
In nine games this season, Fields has thrown for 1,259 yards and seven touchdowns — winning just two of his nine starts in his debut season with the Jets, hence his benching.
Fields' benching has major implications on Pittsburgh's 2026 NFL Draft plans — the Steelers needed him to keep starting games for New York, as their potential third compensatory pick will likely drop to a fourth- or fifth-round draft pick with Tyrod Taylor taking over signal-caller duties for the Jets.
