Chelsea not interested in signing Real Madrid’s Brazilian duo amidst growing noise – Romano

Real Madrid woke up to heavy noise from England earlier today after reports suggested Chelsea were preparing an astonishing €150 million proposal to lure Vinicius Jr. away from the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Premier League giants, known for aggressive spending and long-term squad planning, were said to be ready to test Madrid’s resolve at a time when the Brazilian’s contract renewal remains unresolved.

But within hours of the rumour gaining traction, the story took a significant turn.

Reliable journalist Fabrizio Romano moved quickly to calm the speculation, confirming that Chelsea are not in negotiations with either Vinicius, Rodrygo, or their representatives.

According to Romano, the current FIFA Club World Cup champions have no plans, no contacts, and no active conversations regarding the Real Madrid duo.

Mere market rumours

This clarification is crucial, especially given how Madrid’s Brazilian forwards often attract attention during periods of uncertainty

Despite the noise circulating online, neither Vinicius nor Rodrygo is considering a departure at this stage.

In fact, both players are fully focused on their roles in the Spanish capital, where they remain central to the club’s medium- and long-term sporting vision.

Contract standoff is real

However, the intensity of external interest is no coincidence. As previously reported, Vinicius’ future has become a talking point across Europe due to stalled renewal talks.

The club and the player remain separated by financial expectations, creating a scenario where foreign clubs are closely monitoring developments.

Chelsea’s name appeared strongest in the latest round of rumour. Yet, despite the speculation, the reality remains far more stable than the headlines suggest.

Real Madrid have not opened the door to any sale, and internally, Vinicius continues to be regarded as one of the pillars of the project being constructed around young talent.

It is also understood that the forward himself still prioritises staying at Madrid, even amid ongoing negotiations.
