DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)—It’s a good day to be a fan of the Dothan Wolves.
The Wolves tipped off their 2025 campaign with a matchup against the Opelika Bulldogs.
To start off the action, the ladies took the court first, and this game was over from the early stages.
Coming out of halftime, Dothan held a 16-point advantage, and these ladies just never looked back.
The Bulldogs struggled offensively, due in large part to the Wolves’ suffocating defense; and on the offensive end, Dothan was having their way all night long.
Junior guard Ellisia Rambo was a force to be reckoned with as she dropped a team-high 20 points, with sophomore forward Chasity Knight raining in 10 points of her own.
By the sound of the final buzzer, it would be the Wolves coming out on top
Dothan Girls win 61-27.
Following the girls’ game, the varsity boys took the court, but it wasn’t the blowout performance quite like the game prior, at least not at first.
Both the Bulldogs and Wolves continued to trade baskets in the early stages of this game, with Dothan clinging onto a 29-23 lead going into the break.
But the second half was a completely different story.
Opelika was ice-cold to start the third period, hitting just 1-11 shots, and Dothan was able to strike while the iron was hot.
The Wolves were able to hit shot after shot, at one point leading by 20 points in the fourth period.
Thanks to some lights-out performances from players like senior guard Diggy Coleman, who finished with 15 points, and sophomore Jordan Rollins, scoring 10 points, Dothan was able to show its opponents who the real top dogs were.
Dothan Boys win 56-39.
