The AHSAA flag football playoffs are heading into round two which means scores are coming from all across the state.
Defending Class 1-5A champions Montgomery Catholic and defending 6-7A champions Central-Phenix City both advanced to the second round of the bracket in search of another title in the second year that the AHSAA has made high school flag football sanctioned sport.
Three of the top 25 nationally ranked high school flag football teams according to the USA TODAY Sports Super 25 rankings won their respective first round games earning a spot in the second round. Moody was ranked No. 23 in the latest polls, while Vestavia Hills came in at No. 6 and Central-Phenix City at No. 3.
The playoffs will have one round per week, leading up to the AHSAA Super 7 Championships at Protective Stadium. The games will be on Dec. 3 with Class 1-5A at 11 a.m. and Class 6-7A at 3 p.m.
