On the latest episode of Brian Windhorst and The Hoop Collective, ESPN NBA insider Tim MacMahon gave further details into turmoil within the Dallas Mavericks. This time, MacMahon said that the relationship between owner Patrick Dumont and GM Nico Harrison has crumbled.
MacMahon said that trust between Dumont and Harrison has "completely disintegrated". MacMahon added that "it's a matter of when, not if, Nico Harrison will be fired". Dumont has apparently taken control of issues, like Anthony Davis' recovery from a calf strain. Davis wanted to return over the weekend, but there is an internal disagreement over when the Mavs big man should play again.
This is the latest in a long string of reporting that suggests Harrison is on thin ice in Dallas. The Mavericks beat the Washington Wizards on Saturday, but have opened the season 3-7 and in 14th place in the Western Conference.
