Hollywood stars are speaking out to mourn the death of controversial conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

News broke on Wednesday, September 10, that Kirk was shot and killed during a  speaking engagement in Utah. He was 31.

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead,” President Donald Trump wrote via his Truth Social platform. “No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us.”

Shortly after, multiple news organizations including CNN, MSNBC and Fox News confirmed his death.

Kirk, a conservative political activist and founder of Turning Point USA, had been speaking at an event at Utah Valley University when it was reported that “a single shot” was fired on campus from around 200 yards away. He was subsequently taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

“It’s with a heavy heart that we, the Turning Point USA leadership team, write to notify you that early this afternoon, Charlie went to his eternal reward with Jesus Christ in Heaven,” Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA, announced in a note to employees and supporters, according to CNN.

Kirk is survived by his wife, Erika Frantzve, and their two young children.

Donald Trump

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” the president wrote in a statement shared by the White House’s X account. “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”

Scott Jennings

The CNN commentator tweeted a supportive message before Kirk’s death was confirmed, writing, “Pray for Charlie. Pray for our country. Pray for the innocents.”

Jennings later teared up on air while announcing Kirk’s passing and discussing his impact on the political dialogue.

Bernie Sanders

The democratic senator offered his condolences via X.

“Political violence has no place in this country. We must condemn this horrifying attack,” Sanders wrote. “My thoughts are with Charlie Kirk and his family.”

Piers Morgan

Morgan called Kirk’s death “heartbreaking” in a social media statement.

Charlie always welcomed debate with anyone. This is disgusting, and heartbreaking,” Morgan added. “RIP Charlie.”

Jimmy Kimmel

The talk show host also shared a tribute via social media.

“Instead of the angry finger-pointing, can we just for one day agree that it is horrible and monstrous to shoot another human?” Kimmel wrote via Instagram. “On behalf of my family, we send love to the kirks and to all the children, parents and innocents who fall victim to senseless gun violence.”

The Kansas City Chiefs heiress noted via her Instagram Stories that she was “in disbelief” over Kirk’s death.

The former Bachelor shared a video of Kirk speaking via his Instagram Stories, writing, “Absolutely heartbroken. Thank you @CharlieKirk1776, you truly touched this world. RIP legend.”

Savannah Chrisley

The Chrisley Knows Best alum mourned the death of her friend in an emotional TikTok video. She said, “Today’s been a tough day. The past two and a half years of my life have been some of the hardest years I’ve ever had to endure, but in those two and a half years, I’ve met so many people great people and lifelong friends, and one of those people that brought me into their world was Charlie Kirk.”

“I am numb. I can’t believe I’m even writing these words. Charlie Kirk changed my life…he brought me into the Turning Point family this past year, and I was supposed to be standing next to him at every college this October. Instead, I sit here with a broken heart, devastated beyond words,” she captioned the post.

Josh Duhamel

“RIP Charlie Kirk. Please remember, no matter what your political beliefs, that this man had a wife and two beautiful children who no longer have him,” the Ransom Canyon star wrote via Instagram. “Please pray for this madness to stop.”

Jessie James Decker

James Decker noted via her Instagram Stories that she is “praying for” Kirk’s wife and children.

“This is heartbreaking,” she added. “I’m sick to my stomach.”

Ashley Iaconetti

“My heart is heavy and sad,” the Bachelor Nation alum wrote via her Instagram Stories. “Praying for the Kirk family and all the victims of violence this week.”

Josh Murray

Murray asked for prayers for Kirk via Instagram before news of his death broke.

“My friend is a good man, a man who loves the Lord and a protector of his family and Christian values,” Murray wrote. “He was cowardly shot today during an event by a deranged lunatic and is in a battle for his life. Lord please protect Charlie and his family and be with them during this tragically difficult time.”

Raelynn

The country singer penned a note in honor of Kirk’s wife, whom she called her “Godly friend.”

“My beautiful, courageous, incredible and Godly friend lost her husband and her two beautiful babies lost their father today,” Raelynn wrote via Instagram. “He was shot not while holding a weapon but by holding a microphone. He didn’t attack anyone he just spoke and debated people using a right we all have which is freedom of speech. Jesus please cover this family and be with Erika. ‘I am the resurrection and the life.’”

Lindsay Arnold

The former Dancing With the Stars pro said she was “sick to her stomach” over Kirk’s death, which took place in her Utah hometown.

“My hearts and prayers go out to all those affected, and especially to the Kirk family for their loss,” she wrote via her Instagram Stories.

Witney Carson

Fellow DWTS pro Carson said via her Instagram Stories that she’s “been crying and praying” for Kirk’s children, wife and other relatives.

“This is disgusting and wrong,” she added of the fatal shooting.

Harrison Butker 

The Kansas City Chiefs kicker shared his final text messages with Kirk in a Wednesday social media post.

“Thank you for your strong witness for Christ, Charlie. Thank you for pursuing truth and leading your family as a husband and father,” he captioned the upload. “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”

Rosie O’Donnell

O’Donnell, who has been outspoken against Trump, condemned the shooting of Kirk.

“No just no — do not become the murderer,” the former talk show host wrote via Instagram alongside a photo of Kirk. “This is wrong on every level.”
