The Miami Dolphins may not be very good this season, but at least the WAGs will have fun.
During the Dolphins’ preseason finale against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Zach Wilson‘s newlywed, Nicolette Wilson, and Quinn Ewers’ girlfriend, Madelyne Barnes, shared a fun moment on the Jumbotron.
Barnes posted a photo on her Instagram story of them on the Jumbotron cheering on their significant others, with the caption: “LET’S GO DOLPHINS!!!”
Wilson reposted it on her story with a similar caption reading: “Go Fins!”
With Tua Tagovailoa firmly entrenched as Miami’s starter, the preseason was always when Wilson and Ewers would see most of their action — giving Nicolette Wilson and Madelyne Barnes a chance to cheer them on.
In the finale against the Jaguars, Wilson finished 9/13 for 80 yards, while Ewers finished 7/8 for 66 yards. Neither threw for a touchdown, or had any interceptions.
Tagovailoa saw a bit of action as well, going 4/8 for 49 yards and a touchdown, before head coach Mike McDaniel quickly took him out.
Wilson will be Tagovailoa’s backup this season as Ewers enters his rookie year as QB3.
Miami signed Wilson to a one-year, $6million contract this offseason and drafted Ewers in the seventh round of this year’s draft. Both quarterbacks were once seen as potential stars at the next level, but have stumbled thus far for a number of reasons.
For Wilson, he was the second overall pick in 2021 by the New York Jets out of BYU. He was seen as a prospect who was a bit raw but had all the arm talent in the world.
The Wilson experiment lasted three seasons in the Big Apple before the Jets traded him to the Denver Broncos in 2024.
In his three seasons in New York, Wilson went 12-21, throwing just 23 touchdowns against 25 interceptions. He is regarded as one of the biggest busts in franchise history.

After a year in Denver, Wilson is hoping to turn his career around in Miami and given Tagovailoa’s injury history, there is a good chance Wilson finds himself as QB1 for a game or two.
As for Ewers, he was a highly-rated five-star quarterback when he arrived in college. He started at Ohio State before shortly transferring to Texas, where he had a few up and down seasons, while battling injuries himself.
He never quite lived up to the hype in Austin. He was good, sometimes great, but never played at that consistently high level he was projected to be at. His draft profile then took a massive hit because of the injuries and inconsistent play, seeing him slide all the way to the seventh round.
His job for now is to put his head down, go to work and learn as much as he can. The reports out of training camp have been that he’s done just that, while going through the normal rookie lumps.
Putting aside QB2 and QB3 for a moment, Tagovailoa enters a big year. He is getting paid $53.1 million this season to deliver. As he enters his sixth season, he is yet to win a playoff game, nor a division title.
McDaniel’s job could also be in jeopardy if he and Tagovailoa don’t deliver. The head coach is entering his fourth year on the job, coming off an 8-9 season a year ago.
NFL's Greatest......

Ranking the top 10......
Quarterbacks of all-time – Can anyone better Tom Brady?
Wide receivers of all-time – Does Randy Moss or Jerry Rice come out on top?
Running backs of all-time – Stacking Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith and more
Tight ends of all-time – How does Travis Kelce compare?
All eyes will be on the quarterback and head coach to see if they can come through and win the franchise its first playoff game since 2000.
Meanwhile, Wilson and Ewers will continue to work in the background, both trying to prove they belong in the NFL.
No matter what their future holds, it looks like they have a strong support system regardless, and at the end of the day, that can go a long way in getting through the rigors of an NFL season.
The Dolphins open their season on September 7 against the Indianapolis Colts.
