Tom Sandoval and the Most Extras are ready to go live on America’s Got Talent.

After impressing all four judges during the audition round, Tom Sandoval and his band are working hard to ensure they deliver a live performance worthy of America’s vote.

“I think that it’s just gonna take a lot of hard work and passion,” Sandoval, 43, exclusively told Us Weekly before Tom Sandoval and the Most Extras perform live on Tuesday, August 19. “When I watch people perform and I see them put their whole selves into a performance, it really moves me.”

On June 24, judges Mel B, Howie Mandel, Sofía Vergara and Simon Cowell were impressed with the band’s audition and cover of A-ha’s “Take On Me.”

“I’m a huge fan of ‘80s music. It’s tough not to wanna do an ‘80s song again,” Sandoval shared with Us. “[But] that’s one thing I really want to show is the variety of songs that we play. One thing I love about our band is, yes, we do ‘Take on Me,’ but we also do a lot of deep cuts. We don’t do the normal songs that you would hear from every cover band.”

Although Sandoval and his band received four “yes” votes from the judges to advance into the live shows, Cowell warned the former Vanderpump Rules star that his “vocals weren’t great.”

Sandoval, however, said he’s open to honest feedback and criticism. And yes, he’s ready to put in the work.

“It’s been a learning process, and I’ve been working with vocal coaches, and I’m continuing to work with vocal coaches and continuing to push myself,” he said of the famed judge’s criticism. “For him to say that, I mean, the guys heard people sing that are just, like, some of the best singers ever. Of course the vocals could use some work.”

While the idea of receiving the top amount of votes on finale night excites Sandoval, he’s simply living in the moment.

“I think I’m just happy to be there,” he explained to Us. “I feel so lucky to just be there, to be among such great acts and such great talent. Anything after this, in all honesty, is just a bonus.”

Sandoval continued, “We’re gonna obviously do our best, and we’re gonna really go out there and have fun and do us. But really, that’s up to America.”
