Cristiano Ronaldo proposed to Georgina Rodríguez with a colossal engagement ring.
After Ronaldo, 40, and Rodríguez, 31, announced their engagement via Instagram on Monday, August 11, fans were starstruck by her dazzling engagement ring, which features a massive rock with side stones set on a silver band.
Lorel Diamond’s engagement ring specialist, Laura Taylor, broke down the ring’s details — and cost — to Us Weekly.
“[Her] engagement ring is an extraordinary piece, featuring what appears to be an oval-cut diamond in the 15 to 20 carat range,” Taylor explained. “The center stone is flanked by substantial side diamonds, adding even more sparkle and making the already impressive main stone look even larger.”

She continued, “If the diamond is natural and of exceptional quality in the D-F color range with flawless or near-flawless clarity, its value could easily exceed around $2 million.”
Taylor also noted that a stone that size is “almost certainly set in platinum for security.”
Neil Dutta, the managing director of Angelic Diamonds, told Us that he estimated the ring to be even larger, at around 30 carats.
“A ring of this quality would likely be worth between $3.7 million to $4.9 million,” Dutta told Us. “It’s a piece that rivals some of the biggest celebrity engagement rings, from Beyoncé’s to Kim Kardashian’s, and after [eight years] together, it’s definitely been worth the wait.”
Ronaldo and Rodríguez started dating in 2016 and have welcomed children together.
The soccer pro welcomed his first son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., 15, in 2010, but has never publicly revealed the identity of the child’s mother. In 2017, he welcomed twins Eva and Mateo, both 8, via a surrogate, around the same time he started dating Rodríguez.

Weeks after the twins were born, the couple announced that Rodríguez was pregnant. They welcomed their first baby together, Alana, now 8, in July 2017.
In 2021, the pair announced that they were expecting twins. That following April, the couple shared that their baby girl, Bella, was born healthy, but the other twin, baby boy Ángel, had died. Bella is now 3 years old.
“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel,” Ronaldo wrote via Instagram at the time. “Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.”
